Just under a month ago Colombian fusion artist Pernett released the stems to his song La Cumbia Continental for those desiring to make an attempt remixing it. So far as I’ve seen there are five remixers finished and they’re all Colombian.
First there is the deep cumbia junkie and our good friend here at Nu Cumbia Experience, Dany F. He brings his signature deep cumbia style into his remix.
For a completely different approach the next remixer DJ Artur Van Holl produced a cumbia house remix.
Next up is our good friend and brilliant young artist Bleepolar with an experimental yet dance floor friendly nu cumbia remix.
Then there’s this crazy tropical bass remix by another good friend of ours Caballo!
Last up is BomBomBom with this deep minimalist remix approach.
The newest remix just came in from Andres Digital. This is intense featuring a strong driving bass, synth arpeggio accents and dope re-drumming.
The newer newest remix is by PISKA Power! I was excited to see this hit the clouds recently. PISKA Power takes a very different approach remixing Cumbia Continental. Mixing in samples and new percussion this makes for a very interesting and cool remix.
The newest newer remix (as you might be able to tell by now I keep updating as they come in) is from Argentina! Lesglobe is behind this one and it’s quite different than the rest. About two minutes in it takes a turn for the unique and continues all the way to the end. Over-all this is a good and cool interpretation of Cumbian Continental.
If anyone else is working on a remix of La Cumbia Continental please send it my way. Or if you’re wishing to produce a remix still and don’t have the stems, well here they are.
